Planning a beach picnic? Here’s what you need to know about permits and regulations for beaches in Southampton and East Hampton.
General Guidelines

Special Event Permits are required for all beach picnics.

Beach events must not start before 6:30 PM and must conclude by 10:00 PM.

Be sure to review the specific rules and regulations for each town or village before planning your event.

Southampton Town Beaches

Applicants MUST be Southampton Town residents.

Permit Fee: Starting at $300.
Southampton Village Beaches
-
Permit Fee: Starting at $500 for non-residents.

Event Start Time: 6:00 PM.
Sagaponack - Gibson Lane Beach

Permit Fee: $200

East Hampton Village Beaches

Permit Fee: $500 for non-residents.
East Hampton Town Beaches

We provide rental drop-off and pick-up services for all events catered by a
commercial caterer with an approved permit. -
Permit Required: Applications must be approved by the Special Events Committee.
Additional Permit for EH Trustee Beaches
If your event is on a Trustee beach in East Hampton, you’ll need an additional permit.
